Stephen Moyer on season 4 ‘Is smaller but intense’

The English actor has played vampire Bill Compton in the US drama for the past four years. It was created by writer and director Alan Ball, who was responsible for the popular black comedy series Six Feet Under, which finished in 2005.

Stephen believes True Blood has been refined and improved – all thanks to Alan’s vision.

“This year, the show is smaller but a lot more intense. It definitely gets better and better, and that’s down to Alan Ball and his writers,”the 41-year-old told Empire magazine.

Stephen loves the fact that the show attempts to achieve a lot in a historically limited genre. While the show does have its gory elements, he enjoys how the writers have not pigeonholed themselves, instead engaging a range of people on universal themes.

“What I think is incredible is that it tries to do so much,” he explained. “It’s not just appeasing some kind of genre-specific audience. It’s not a vampire show any more than Star Trek was a show about space travel.”
